Reading

When you are reading independently, it is important you've chosen a 'just right' book.

Follow this criteria and you'll be a successful reader:

1. Look at the title, cover of the text, and if possible, read the summary on the back

2. The topic may be something you are learning about in school or are interested in

3. Read the first paragraph or page in the text.  There should only be about 2 - 3 words that you read which are really difficult.

4. If you liked what you read, keep going.  If not, go back to step one!

Now that you have your 'just right' book, read and enjoy!

Follow Up:
1. Can you summarize the text for a family member or friend?  2. What is the main idea?
